The P1 GTR is the track racing model. Stripped of all its useless weights it was built in 58 units. Its production began in 2015 after the completion of the P1. The GTR was originally reserved for P1 owners who would be interested in its sensational track performance.
Customers preferred to request a road legal car benefiting from the additional performance of the GTR. Since 2016 almost half of the P1 GTRs have been converted for the road by a McLaren subcontractor, Lanzante Motorsport.
On May 27 in Villa Erba, RM Sotheby's sells a P1 GTR built in 2016 and transformed by Lanzante. This hypercar with 360 Km from new is estimated € 3,2M, lot 157.
As a result of this successful reconversion of their GTR, McLaren has entrusted Lanzante with the realization of a new prototype followed by a series limited to five cars under the reference P1 LM.
