Pope Francis’s Leica M-A has been sold at an auction recently for €6,500,000.

2024 humidor

1
Cohiba
2024 SOLD for € 4.5M by Habanos

The Habano festival is a yearly event operated in Havana by Habanos SA, the Cuban tobacco monopoly shared by Cuba and Spain. The final top luxury night gala includes an auction of humidors. Each lot is populated with cigars of a single brand. Fidel Castro, died at 90 in 2016, had sometimes served as the auctioneer.

In 2024 and 2025 all the proceeds went to Cuba's public healthcare system. The Cuban president was actively participating.

In the 2024 auction on March 1, the top lot was a Cohiba humidor, sold for € 4.5M. This cube rotating on a base is filled with 500 cigars made of regular productions and special editions. It is illustrated in last position in the post shared by Cigar Aficionado.

2
Trinidad
2024 SOLD for € 3.8M by Habanos

In the same sale as above on March 1, 2024, a Trinidad humidor celebrating the 55th anniversary of that brand was sold for € 3.8M. It is filled with 450 cigars.

A surprise lot was a smaller humidor filled with 55 Cohiba Lanceros and making reference to the Year of the Dragon for appealing the Chinese bidders. It was sold for € 550K. The five other lots sold for more than € 1M. The grand total was € 17.8M.

Chiron Super Sport Elephant Blanc
2026 SOLD for $ 5.1M by Bonhams

The 2024 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Elephant Blanc was sold for $ 5.1M from a lower estimate of $ 4.5M by Bonhams on January 23, 2026, lot 143.

The Bugatti Type 41, universally known as the Royale, represents one of the most ambitious and extravagant projects in automotive history. Ettore Bugatti conceived it in the mid-1920s as the ultimate luxury automobile — a car fit for kings and emperors.
The Royale is famously associated with the
prancing (or dancing) elephant hood ornament, sculpted by Ettore's younger brother, Rembrandt Bugatti (a renowned animalier artist). This majestic silver elephant became a defining symbol of the marque.
One particularly famous Royale was nicknamed "
Éléphant Blanc" (White Elephant) due to its white paint and imposing presence — this is the direct inspiration for the modern Chiron Super Sport tribute.

This one-of-one car directly pays homage to the Bugatti Royale through:
  • Glacier White exterior (echoing the "White Elephant")
  • French Racing Blue interior
  • Bespoke embroidered elephant emblems on the headrests (nod to Rembrandt’s sculpture)
  • Overall Sur Mesure design philosophy linking modern hypercar performance to prewar heritage
This historical tie is a big reason it achieved a significantly higher auction price than its near-identical sibling.

Compare this Chiron to production car 098.

Both cars are 2024 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport models — mechanically identical limited-production hypercars with the 8.0L quad-turbo W16 engine (~1,578–1,600 PS), massive torque, all-wheel drive, and longtail aerodynamics. They are extremely low-mileage US-spec examples sold at recent Bonhams auctions.
Detailed Comparison
Auction Results:
The Éléphant Blanc (VIN ending ...097) sold for US$5,065,000 (including premium) at the Scottsdale Auction in January 2026.
The second car (VIN ending ...098) sold for US$4,340,000 (including premium) at the Miami Auction in May 2026.

Exterior:
The first car is finished in Glacier White (Éléphant Blanc) with Nocturne accents — a one-off Sur Mesure tribute to the Type 41 Royale.
The second car features Black Carbon with Jet Grey highlights — a more aggressive, modern look.

Interior:
Éléphant Blanc has French Racing Blue leather with bespoke embroidered elephant emblems on the headrests.
The Black Carbon car has Beluga Black leather with Italian Red accents.
Mileage:
The white car has 2,750 miles.
The black car has 1,310 miles (noticeably lower).

Original MSRP / Options:
The Éléphant Blanc carried an original price of approximately $4.1 million with extensive bespoke Sur Mesure work.
The black car had factory options totaling $479,100, including the desirable Sky View glass roof.

Uniqueness:
The white car is a true one-of-one Sur Mesure commission with strong historical ties to Bugatti’s prewar Royale and elephant motif.
The black car is one of the ~80 production Super Sports but highly optioned.
Other Details:
The Éléphant Blanc was delivered new to Canada (US-spec).
The black car was delivered new to Bugatti St. Louis, Missouri. It also features carbon ceramic brakes, while the white car has standard disc brakes listed.

Summary
The Éléphant Blanc (...097) commanded a much higher price due to its true one-off bespoke nature, heritage theme, and storytelling value, despite higher mileage. Collectors who prize rarity and historical connection strongly favor it.
The Black Carbon car (...098) offers lower mileage, more modern styling, the practical Sky View roof, and strong US market history. It represents excellent value within the standard limited production run.

Both are pristine, time-capsule examples of one of the final W16 Bugattis. The choice ultimately comes down to whether you prefer unique heritage-themed customization or a lower-mileage, modern-optioned example.

Bolide chassis 004
2026 SOLD for € 4.3M by RM Sotheby's

Bugatti Bolide. Compare 3 cars : 004, sold for € 4.3M by RM Sotheby's on April 25, 2026, lot 170 ; 008, sold by RM Sotheby's on February 27, 2026, lot 157 ; 037, sold by RM Sotheby's on February 27, 2026, lot 171.

The Bugatti Bolide is a track-only hypercar (non-road-legal, bill of sale only) produced in a strictly limited run of 40 examples. It showcases the final, most extreme evolution of Bugatti’s legendary 8.0-litre quad-turbocharged W16 engine (delivering 1,578 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque in production form), mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and permanent all-wheel drive. Dry weight is approximately 1,450 kg (3,197 lb), yielding a power-to-weight ratio exceeding 1,100 hp per tonne. Performance claims include 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.2 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited around 380 km/h (236 mph) in track configuration. The bespoke carbon-fibre monocoque meets FIA Le Mans Hypercar (LMH/LMDh) safety standards, features extreme aerodynamics (generating up to ~2,900 kg of downforce), pushrod suspension, massive carbon-ceramic brakes, and optimized cooling/intake/exhaust systems for sustained high-rev track use. All examples are highly customized and delivered with accessories such as flight cases, tools, covers, battery conditioners, and often spare wheels/tyres.
Here is a side-by-side comparison of the three specified 2024 Bugatti Bolides, all from single-owner collections with very low usage:
Chassis 004 (VF9NX0V08RM795004) – RM Sotheby's Monaco, Lot 170, April 25, 2026
  • Color/Livery: Agile Blue tinted carbon fibre and Nocturne exterior with colour-split motif, Agile Blue accents, French flag graphic, Nocturne wheels with black caps, fuel cap, and exhaust deflector.
  • Interior: Full Alcantara in French Racing Blue and Beluga Black, with polished aluminium trim, Beluga Black stitching, and Bolide logos.
  • Mileage/Usage: 359 km at cataloguing — low but with some documented use.
  • Options/History: €291,000 in factory options (spec sheet on file); one of 40 examples; temporary EU import bond (buyer responsible for VAT/duties if not exporting); includes Bugatti flight cases with tools, spare tyres, car cover, battery conditioner, and owner’s manual.
  • Condition: Well-presented, as-new track car ready for use.
  • Auction Context: Estimate €3,500,000–€4,500,000. Positioned as a highly optioned, visually striking example with patriotic French accents.
Chassis 008 (VF9SX0V01RM795008) – RM Sotheby's Miami (Moda Miami), Lot 157, February 27, 2026 (see below)
Chassis 037 (VF9SX0V08RM795037) – RM Sotheby's Paris (Rétromobile), Lot 171, February 27, 2026 (see page Bugatti Automobiles) Will be included in future page 2025.
Key Comparison Points
  • Similarity: All three are identical in core engineering — the same 1,578 hp W16 track weapon with extreme aero, FIA-compliant carbon monocoque, and no road-legal compromises. They share the same performance envelope and come with comparable Bugatti accessories/flight cases. Production exclusivity (1 of 40) drives strong collector interest as the ultimate expression of the W16 era before Bugatti’s shift away from the quad-turbo layout.
  • Mileage/Usage: Chassis 008 stands out with the lowest recorded mileage (77 miles), followed closely by 037 (~112 km); chassis 004 has the highest at 359 km but remains very low overall for a track car. Lower mileage typically commands a premium in this ultra-exclusive segment.
  • Aesthetics/Provenance: 004 offers a bold, patriotic French-themed livery with significant options (€291k), appealing to those wanting visual flair. 008 features a sophisticated Blue Royal/Agile Blue scheme with light blue interior accents. 037 has a stealthier Turquoise/Black Carbon look with a unique Le Mans roof tribute. All have single-owner histories, enhancing provenance.
  • Options & Customization: 004 is explicitly the most heavily optioned of the trio. The others were tailored to owner preferences but without a disclosed equivalent options total.
  • Market/Price: Recent RM Sotheby’s sales show Bolides realizing $4M–$5M+ (008 at $4.955M being the strongest here). Estimates and results vary with livery appeal, mileage, and options. The Monaco example (004) carries a €3.5–4.5M pre-sale range, suggesting potential for a competitive result depending on bidder interest. Broader market strength for low-mileage modern hypercars (especially final W16 cars) has supported these figures, though values can fluctuate with overall collector sentiment.
  • Which "Wins"? It depends on priorities: 008 for minimal usage and proven strong sale price; 037 for similar low km with distinctive Le Mans detailing at a slightly softer realized price; 004 for standout options, striking livery, and upcoming availability in the glamorous Monaco setting. All represent pure track weapons with no compromises — ideal for private collections or occasional circuit use.

Bolide chassis 037
2026 SOLD for € 4M by RM Sotheby's

A 2024 Bugatti Bolide was sold for € 4M by RM Sotheby's in Paris on January 28, 2026, lot 171.

This track-only hypercar is one of just 40 examples produced, featuring Bugatti's quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W16 engine delivering 1,600 horsepower. It has a dry weight of 1,450 kg, a weight-to-power ratio of 0.91 kg/hp, and performance stats including 0-100 km/h in 2.2 seconds and a top speed of 380 km/h. The car generates up to 2.5 G in corners and 2,900 kg of downforce.
This particular example (chassis VF9SX0V08RM795037) is in "as-new" condition with only 112 km on the odometer, owned by a single individual since new. Its exterior is finished in Turquoise Carbon with Black Carbon accents, French flag motifs, Blanc details, and Nocturne-painted wheels.
The interior is Beluga Black Alcantara with Gris Rafale stitching and Bolide logos on the headrests. Unique features include a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque, push-rod suspension, an extreme aero package, and a permanent four-wheel-drive system.
The pre-sale estimate is €4,000,000 to €6,000,000 (approximately $4.7 million to $7 million USD). It comes with accompanying items like two Bugatti flight cases (including a technical manual), a car cover, tool bag with gloves, battery conditioner, spare wheels, and owner's manual. The car is sold on a bill of sale only (no registration) and is currently in Paris on a temporary import bond.

  • Auction Context: Sold for approximately €3,998,750 (~$4.3–4.4M equivalent depending on exchange rates at the time). This was part of early 2026 Bolide sales that helped establish auction benchmarks for the model.

2024 Shohei Ohtani Baseball
2024 SOLD for $ 4.4M by Goldin

Shohei Ohtani made his professional debut in the Japanese baseball league in 2013, aged 19. He joined the MLB in 2018 with the Los Angeles Angels and was transferred in 2024 to the Los Angeles Dodgers. He plays with Team Japan in international tournaments.

In 2021 he scored 46 home runs and 26 stolen bases in a single season.

After undergoing Tommy John surgery in late 2023, Ohtani signed a record $700 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 2024, focusing solely on hitting due to recovery, he created the unprecedented "50/50 club" by becoming the first player ever to hit 50 home runs and steal 50 bases in a single season, doing so in dramatic fashion with a 6-for-6, three-homer game on September 19 in the seventh inning of the Dodgers against the Miami Marlins.

That feat of power and speed was acclaimed by baseball fans as the founding of a symbolic 50/50 Club. The 40/40 club is listing 6 batters.

The baseball of his 50th 2024 homer reached a dining area beyond the field. Its lucky finder was escorted by ballpark security immediately and had it authenticated and signed by the official MLB commissioner Rob Manfred. The place were hit is visible on the ball. It was sold for $ 4.4M by Goldin on October 23, 2024, lot 1. Please watch the video shared by the auction house.

Ohtani finished the 2024 season by playing in 159 games, with a .310 batting average, 54 home runs, 130 RBI and 59 stolen bases.

2024 Pagani Utopia
2025 SOLD for CHF 3.3M by RM Sotheby's

A Pagani Utopia made in 2024 was sold for CHF 3.3M from a lower estimate of CHF 2.3M by RM Sotheby's on October 11, 2025, lot 121.

Compare with other Pagani models.

The Pagani Utopia is Pagani Automobili's third hypercar model (following the Zonda and Huayra), unveiled in 2022 as the successor to the Huayra. It represents Horacio Pagani's vision of blending analog driving purity with modern performance, featuring a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 producing 852–864 hp (depending on configuration) and up to ~1,100 Nm of torque. Key highlights include:
  • Transmission options: 7-speed manual (a rarity in modern hypercars) or automated manual (Xtrac).
  • Lightweight construction: Carbon-titanium monocoque, extensive use of Carbo-Titanium and aerospace-grade materials; dry weight ~1,280 kg.
  • Performance: 0-100 km/h in ~2.7–3.0 seconds, top speed over 370 km/h.
  • Production: Strictly limited to 99 units (plus a few prototypes/one-offs), emphasizing bespoke craftsmanship, aerodynamics without active elements, and timeless design inspired by classic Paganis.
The specific example referenced is a 2024 Pagani Utopia (chassis s/n ZA9U11EC9YSF76024), sold at RM Sotheby's Tailored for Speed Collection auction in Zurich on October 11, 2025, Lot 121. It achieved CHF 3,267,500 (including buyer's premium; approximately $4.06 million USD at the time), well above its pre-sale estimate of CHF 2.4–2.8 million. This low-mileage car (~48 km driven) was part of a high-profile single-owner collection and performed strongly in a record-breaking sale (CHF 70 million total gross, 100% sell-through).
Comparison with Other Pagani Models (Auction Context)

Pagani values have risen dramatically in recent years due to extreme rarity, bespoke nature, and collector demand. Here's how the Utopia stacks up against the Zonda and Huayra in public auction results (focusing on recent/high-profile sales as of early 2026):
  • Pagani Zonda (1999–2019 production, ongoing one-offs/refurbishments):
    • The "grandfather" model, with production far more limited and fragmented (various series like Cinque, Tricolore, 760 LM, etc.).
    • Auction performance: Often the highest tier. Recent standouts include a 2014 Zonda 760 LM Roadster at $11,086,250 (RM Sotheby's Dubai, Dec 2024; record for any Pagani at public auction) and a 2006 Zonda Riviera at $10,130,000 (RM Sotheby's Abu Dhabi, Dec 2025). Standard/special Zondas typically fetch $5–11 million+, with one-offs pushing boundaries.
    • Why higher? Proven collectibility over decades, historical significance, and ultra-low surviving numbers make top examples outperform newer models.
  • Pagani Huayra (2011–2022 production, variants ongoing):
    • The direct predecessor, with more units built (~300 total across coupe/roadster/BC/R variants) but still highly exclusive.
    • Auction performance: Strong but generally below top Zondas. Recent examples include a 2021 Huayra Roadster BC at CHF 4,476,875 (~$5.57 million USD; same 2025 Zurich sale, 33/40 built, low miles), a 2018 Huayra Roadster at $3,415,000 (Broad Arrow Amelia 2025), and standard Huayras around $3–3.5 million (e.g., 2014 at $3.33 million Mecum 2026). Track-focused Huayra R variants sold for €3–CHF 2.4 million range.
    • Comparison to Utopia: Similar or slightly higher for rare BC/Roadster BC variants; standard Huayras align closely with Utopia's ~$4 million result.
  • Pagani Utopia (2022–present):
    • Newest model, earliest public sales emerging.
    • Auction performance: This 2024 example at CHF 3.267 million (~$4.06 million) is the primary (and so far most notable) public result, reflecting strong demand for a near-new, ultra-low-mileage car. Original MSRP was around $3–3.5 million (depending on spec), so the auction premium shows early appreciation.
    • Position: Sits between standard Huayras and premium variants/special Zondas. As production nears completion (99 units), values could rise with scarcity, though it lacks the decades-long provenance of Zondas.
Key Takeaways
  • Value Hierarchy (recent auctions): Top Zondas (especially one-offs/specials) → Rare Huayra variants (BC, Roadster BC) → Utopia/standard Huayras → base Huayras.
  • Why the Utopia performed well: Low mileage, part of a prestigious collection, and the model's fresh appeal (manual option, analog focus) in a market favoring exclusivity. It exceeded estimates significantly, signaling collector enthusiasm for Pagani's latest.
  • Market Context: Pagani averages high among modern hypercars (~$4–5 million+ across models), driven by artisanal build quality over raw performance stats. Zondas appreciate most due to age/rarity; Utopia, as the current flagship, may follow suit as fewer remain available and miles accumulate.
All three embody Pagani's ethos: handcrafted art on wheels with Mercedes-AMG power and unmatched detailing. The Utopia bridges the brand's heritage with modernity, but auction results show Zondas still command the ultimate premiums for now. If you're evaluating for collection or investment, provenance, specification, and mileage matter enormously in this ultra-exclusive segment.
